Australia’s longest-established specialist financial services publication Money Management together with its sister publication, Super Review, has been acquired by FE, the UK’s leading provider of investment research, software and data to the asset management industry.
The acquisition complements the rapid growth of FE in Australia where it has been expanding its presence since 2012 and consolidates the firm’s increasing role as a lynchpin for the wealth management industry; connecting and providing information for financial advisers and fund managers throughout Australia and New Zealand.
FE Director Mika-John Southworth said “The acquisition marks a significant milestone in FE’s drive to improve communication and transparency in the wealth management arena. Our objective is to help investors and financial advisers make better investment decisions. The newly combined business will focus on enriching the Money Management reader’s experience through enhanced access to FE’s fund analysis and research toolset, whilst also empowering news and research content through data driven insights and analytics.”
“Money Management has been providing news and opinion to the Australian financial advice, accounting and fund management industries for the last 30 years. Over the last year, thanks to the introduction of the FE-powered Investment Centre on the Money Management site, it has provided access to comprehensive, independent data for more than 10,000 Australian funds and other instruments and is used by over 200,000 members of the financial services community every month”
“By supplementing the range of services available in Money Management and Super Review we are helping investment management companies ensure that their funds are evaluated in a consistent unbiased environment. At the same time we are able to amplify the voice of investment marketing teams by distributing content which will help answer fund selection questions during the buying process, as well enabling groups to communicate more effectively with customers about fund performance.”
“FE already works with fund managers to help them use digital technologies to communicate fund performance; we know how hard it is to be engaging, accurate and compliant.”
Mike Taylor, Managing Editor of Money Management, said: “Having worked with the FE team over the past 12 months we are delighted that Money Management and Super Review have secured their future in a new home within a group with identical high values and objectives”.
“I believe our combined capabilities will deepen the relationship with our readers and see us move forward to better inform them on key issues such as regulatory compliance while helping them make better informed investment decisions underpinned by credible quantitative research.”
“The Money Management and Super Review teams look forward to working with FE to provide advisers and their clients with an independent and accurate source of quantitative data and analysis.”
