Cazenove Capital and Parmenion among latest DFMs to commit to model portfolio transparency through FE Transmission

Mon 6 Aug, 2018 / by Corporate

LONDON, 06 AUGUST 2018: Cazenove Capital, Openwork, Parmenion and Sarasin are the latest model portfolio providers to join FE Transmission, the service which enables advisers to access underlying portfolio data and conduct detailed analysis on the providers they work with.

FE Transmission was launched in 2015 in response to advisers’ concerns around the difficulties in researching DFM[1] model portfolios compared to other investments.  The service gives advisers access to the underlying holdings data of the model portfolios their clients are invested in, allowing them to integrate this information into their due diligence, portfolio selection and reporting. It also provides the ability to research and analyse these firms’ portfolios using FE Analytics’ performance tables, charts, factsheets, FE Risk Scores and holdings-based analysis.

The addition of these four model portfolio providers takes the total DFM subscribers to 35.  They join other leading providers such as; Brewin Dolphin, Brooks MacDonald, Charles Stanley, Old Mutual, LGT Vestra, Thesis Asset Management, Bordier, Standard Life, Liontrust and Quilter Cheviot amongst others.

Matthew Lawrence, chief operating officer at FE commented: “We’re delighted that there has been such a great response from DFMs to the needs of advisers as it shows that transparency is at the forefront of their service.  The feedback we have received from both advisers and DFMs highlights the mutual benefits to being better connected via robust, comparable data and having greater transparency in the investment process.

“With the main DFM data now available on FE Transmission, advisers are empowered to conduct detailed analysis and demonstrate exactly why their recommendations are paying off for their clients.”

Simon Cooper, business development director at Cazenove Capital said: “Cazenove Capital is excited to partner with FE and make our platform-based model portfolio range available to advisers via the FE Transmission service.

''There is demand from the adviser industry for instantaneous, accurate and transparent model information for their clients and this makes our relationship with FE the obvious choice. We welcome the opportunity of working with both the team at FE and the advisers that utilise the service moving forward.''

Helping advisers better engage with model portfolio providers was also a key motivation for the launch of the FE Analytics+ Investment Planner tool late last year.

Lawrence said: “The FE Analytics+ Investment Planner is the latest addition to FE’s award-winning adviser proposition, which allows advisers to go beyond just researching their outsourced models providers. It helps them to map a client’s risk level to one of the model portfolios they use and to ensure suitability is maintained on an ongoing basis.”

How does FE Transmission work?

  1. All the data is collected straight from source and remains linked to the model or discretionary provider – promising accuracy and up to date prices, as well as entering the portfolios into a unique frame of daily analysis and reporting – under an adviser’s own parameters.
  2. FE Transmission allows advisers to gain a more comprehensive view of the underlying holdings of their outsourced investment propositions. Advisers can monitor changes to the sector, asset and regional allocations of the portfolios and consistently evaluate its match to clients’ risk levels.
