A new comparison tool from FE Trustnet allows investors to draw up a shortlist of funds using a huge range of customisable criteria.
FE Trustnet, the free fund research website, has launched a new fund analysis tool to help IFAs find funds which suit their clients’ needs.
The tool, www.trustnet.com/comparefunds, allows IFAs to use all of parent company FE’s fund and manager ratings1 to identify the best funds, and narrow down their search to focus on vehicles which invest in specific sectors, asset classes, and regions.
Those with more advanced requirements can extend their filters to include minimum performance requirements, fund size or age, and even analytical ratios such as volatility, Sharpe or maximum loss.
FE Trustnet’s head of publishing content Pascal Dowling said:
“When starting with a huge universe, choosing the funds that most closely fit your clients’ objectives can be a daunting prospect. This new tool puts the power in IFAs’ hands and is, by a long way, the most powerful free fund filter available online.
“We see this as a natural first step, allowing you to browse FE Trustnet for new ideas before logging on to FE Analytics. This enables you to fully examine any shortlist you build in minute detail.
“We’ve really turbocharged what was a simple comparison table: IFAs can now build a shortlist based on virtually any combination of requirements; whether they want a small, adventurous fund investing in emerging markets with a highly-rated manager, or a conservative income-focused vehicle which only invests in bonds, and scores highly using our quant fund ratings.”
Juliet Schooling Latter, research director, Chelsea Financial Services said: "This is a useful tool to enable comparison of funds by a great many more criteria than the more narrow confines of IMA sector."
